Sofa Beds

There are a number of types of sofa beds available and the main criteria to consider when purchasing a new sofa bed are:

Where will the sofa bed be located?

How often and by whom will the sofa bed be used?

Is the sofa bed required as a space saver for a bedroom or other living area?

Will it be used by children or adults?

The occasional sofa bed market consists of pull out or flop out mattresses that generally rest on the floor. Consideration needs to be made on the likely age of the people that could use the bed.

Futons and foam flop outs are inexpensive and practical where as sofas with metal actions where the bed is raised off the floor are more traditional looking and provide a better nights sleep.

Better quality upholstery usually has a sofa bed option where the mattress quality can be perfectly fine for regular sleep.

The key factor to bear in mind is that all sofas beds are generally for occasional use and even in the better quality upholstery the fact that the mattress has to be folded restricts the quality that can be used.
