Whilst most sales on adjustable beds in the UK are in single
bed size and are for use by the elderly there is a growing availability of
action beds in contemporary designs that offer great support and good
practicality.
In Europe the majority of beds sold are action beds.
It is clearly important that a good quality mattress is used
and generally pocket spring and foam mattresses lend themselves to be used on
adjustable beds simply because the mattress can be manipulated without damage.
The main selling line is a 5 action base where the head and
foot lift up and predominantly all adjustable are electrically driven with some
available with a remote control handset.
In certain instances where an adjustable bed is needed for a
disabled person VAT is not charged by the retailer. But a Doctors note is
required by the retailer.
